Integrated Finance in Asia

This thought-provoking session comprises two dynamic panels/speakers:

In Open Banking – How close are we to open finance?, our panel walks the tightrope. Hear from open finance advocates, regulatory experts, fintech entrepreneurs, disruptors, and market experts on whether open banking is useful now; whether open finance is really the future; and what kind of new business models we can expect it to create in years to come.

The Making cross-border payments easier session aims to unravel complexities of cross-border payments. Representatives from cross-border payment platforms; regulatory agencies; and international finance organisations will be challenged with the question: how can fintechs in Asia overcome challenges, and leverage opportunities?

The alchemy of trust: security and privacy

Like skilled alchemists, fintech experts are always trying to find the right mixture.

In Payments: speed vs. security, our experts walk the tightrope. How can we balance fraud checks against a frictionless customer experience? And what kinds of developments in anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) tech can we expect to see on the horizon? Hear from fintech entrepreneurs in the payments space, cybersecurity experts, and developers working on new updates.

Then, our panel will ask: Can you ever Know Your Customer too well? Balancing business needs against customer privacy concerns is key. Customers want products and services tailored to them, but in an increasingly transparency and privacy-conscious world, is there a danger of asking too much? With increasingly sophisticated generative AI-led fraud, deepfakes, and cybersecurity breaches, too much of any one ingredient can lead to disaster. This panel will feature experts in KYC tech, regulatory agencies, and data privacy advocates for an interesting debate.
